2014 Audi RS 5

Story

Originally, I wanted the Maserati GranTurismo MC Stradale but I test drove one and the transmission was as sluggish as the 2018 Camry's 8-speed. It wasn't punchy enough for me and I felt disconnected from the driving experience. Then, my brother suggested the B8.5 RS5 and to go test drive one so I did. We found a 2013 Daytona Grey at a nearby dealership and I took it out for a spin. Boy, I was blown away instantly by the V8 grunts on the downshifts and every shift you can feel in the back of your seat. This, this is what I really wanted out of a car. The raw power, the feeling that you get from a proper sports car. I was sold. But knowing me, I change my mind way too easily. I also wanted an RS3 to build into a race rocket. I test drove one of those but it was too boring for me probably cause it was stock haha. In order to keep myself from changing my mind on the car I wanted, I had to buy a part I couldn't return to lock in my decision. My brother did the same thing for his B9 RS5 so in a way, I really did want to match him with the older gen Audi RS5. Like brothers. I found a custom made part for the Audi I needed to have -- full replacement carbon fiber paddles shifters. These were custom made so I would have to wait anyway until I got the car. But as time went on, I started to stockpile parts like the custom transmission cooler, lightweight flywheel, 034 mounts before I even had the car. By the time it came to looking for the one I wanted, I had already stocked up over 5 parts in my room! Finding the car, it happened in April...I saw a post on Facebook where someone said they were going to go pick up an RS5 that weekend so I said "congrats, can't wait to get mine. Still looking for one." Then someone replied to my comment saying "my buddy just put up his nogaro blue rs5 for sale." Interested in the listing, I asked him to link me but instead he sent a screenshot because it was in Audi Club of Nashville FB Group. So I checked it out and saw it had a Milltek Exhaust, the one I wanted on my RS5. So I went to YouTube again to listen to the glorious sounds of the V8 with that exhaust. Note that I've been listening to this car on YouTube with the Milltek Exhaust already as part of my search for the best exhaust. Then I looked at the user's YouTube profile and saw "Nashville" and I thought Hmmm Coincidence? Can it be? I haven't seen pics of the car's exterior so I had no idea it was actually Nogaro Blue, the car I was looking at on Facebook for sale. Then, I made the connection. I had been watching and listening to this car on YouTube so many times and now this car is up for grabs over Facebook. So, I tried every means possible to get in touch with the seller through his friend who sent me the screenshot and to call him through Facebook messenger. We connected and he told me the car was pending sale....Nooooo. I begged and begged him to sell it to a fellow enthusiast and I even showed him my dedication with all the car parts in my room. I told him about how I have been watching his YouTube videos before I even knew the car was for sale. He was trading it in for an Ara Blue S3 but when he went to view this car, he found that it had been repainted poorly and so, the deal fell through. He said he did some thinking and he wanted to work a deal with me to sell it to a fellow enthusiast knowing it would go to a good home. We called over Facebook and he showed me the damages and flaws on the car, checked the codes, and got an oil change for me before delivering the car to me. So many hurdles we had to jump over to get the car to me because of the pandemic. But eventually, I received my car on May the Fourth and boy, I will never forget that night and the date is significant too. This is my Audi RS5 and his name is Noggie.
